Much of the praise for the art of translation in Bangladesh’s literature goes to Anish Das Opu. With his harmonious literary skills he has elevated this art to higher dimensions. He emerged in the field with the books ‘King Kong’, ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ and ‘ET’ in 1994. The same year he also came up with his translated novel ‘Dush-shopner Raat’ (Night of Nightmares), published by Sheba Prokashoni. That was only the beginning, since then he kept on presenting us with translations of books by famous authors like Sydney Sheldon, James Hadley, Wilber Smith and many more.
